Sauna

Built from heat-treated wood with meticulous craftsmanship, the room is outfitted for a premier experience: A starlight ceiling overhead, custom lighting, curated music, and essential oils that round out the heat with scent and atmosphere. Every detail is considered, so the hour feels like more than just a sauna, it feels like a retreat.

Cold plunge in Sammamish at Recovery Lab

Cold Plunge

We use the ReGen Commercial Blast Pro, the highest commercial-grade system built for facilities that need consistent, reliable performance.

Our three cold plunges maintain sanitized water because the pH and chlorine are monitored and dosed continuously, with NSF50 20-micron filtration and UV ozone treatment keeping the water clear. A high-flow system turns the water over every 3–5 minutes, and our chillers give us the range to run anywhere from 36 up to 50 and above depending on what a session calls for. The cold plunge is also 40% larger than standard and will fit individuals comfortably up to 6 feet 8 inches.

Who Uses a Sauna and Cold Plunge on the Sammamish Plateau?

People come in for a lot of different reasons, but they all want to share the same experience.

Some are training, lifters, runners, cyclists, climbers, athletes who treat recovery as part of the program, not an afterthought. Others are coming off a long day of physical or mental work, tradespeople whose bodies carry the day, desk workers whose shoulders carry the week, parents, retirees, anyone whose week has taken something out of them. Different lives, same reason for walking in.

Members come from across the plateau and from Issaquah, Redmond, Kirkland, Renton, and Woodinville.

Who Started Recovery Lab, and Where Is the Studio?

Recovery Lab was started by Nathan Harrison and JC Abboud, both Sammamish locals. Nathan grew up here and played club soccer through high school; he trains now in weightlifting and cycling. JC has lived here over twenty years and works as a research scientist. Two people from the plateau, one facility, one protocol.

The studio is at 22840 NE 8th Street, Suite 102, just off 228th Avenue NE near Inglewood Hill.

Sauna and Cold Plunge Questions

How long is a session?

One full hour, covering the sauna room and all three cold plunges. There is no fixed rotation and no staff timer. Some people run six or seven rounds in an hour. Others do two. Booking is online and takes under a minute, seven days a week between 7am and 8pm.

How long should I stay in the sauna?

As long as feels right. Some people sit ten or fifteen minutes before plunging, others less. First-timers usually go shorter and build up. There is no set round length here and no staff calling switches.

Do you start with the sauna or the cold plunge?

Most people start with the sauna. Heat first, then cold, then back to heat. That is the common order, but there is no rule here and no staff running a rotation. Start where you want, stay as long as you want in each, and repeat as many times as the hour allows.

How cold are the cold plunges?

Our plunges can go as low as 36 degrees, and we have the range to run warmer when that is what a session calls for, anywhere from 36 up to 50 and above. If you are newer to cold exposure, the mid-to-upper 40s is a common place to start. Because there are three plunges, you are not waiting for one to open up partway through your hour.

How much is a session?

A single session is $40 for a full hour with the sauna and all three cold plunges. Session packs are also available: five sessions for $175 and ten for $295. Everything is booked online at any available time.

How much is a membership?

Unlimited monthly access is $195 a month and lets you book as many sessions as you want at any available time. A couples membership covering two people is $299 a month.

Do you offer couples memberships?

Yes. The couples membership is $299 a month and covers two people, which works out to $149.50 each. Both of you get unlimited sessions and you book independently, so you do not have to come at the same time.

What do I wear?

The sauna room is shared, so clothing is required. A swimsuit is the easiest option. Athletic wear works too, like shorts and a sports bra or a training top. Skip anything with metal fasteners or zippers, and leave jewelry in your locker, because metal heats up fast in the sauna. Nothing loose or baggy in the plunge.

Do I need to bring a towel?

No. We provide towels, and electrolyte water is included with your session. Bring a swimsuit or athletic wear and something dry and comfortable to change into afterward. Sandals or slides are handy for walking between the sauna and the plunges. Everything else you can leave in a locker in the changing room.

Are there showers and lockers?

Yes. Men's and women's locker rooms, each with its own bathroom, shower, and lockers for your belongings. All facilities are ADA compliant. Change on site, leave your things in a locker, shower before you head back out.
